Curriculum
I have designed curricula for general art classes levels 1-4. It is based on daily hour long classes but could be adapted to a variety of schedules. I've found that gearing away from an emphasis on techniques and elements of art, and focusing more on how to think creatively and solve problems; why we create as artists and human beings; and meaning and exploration of art propels students into an artistic state of mind. Techniques are important, however, in my lessons, the end goal is to get them to think further into an idea and critically analyze their choices. Obviously shirking the technical side would be haphazard of me, so I sneak it into the overall themes of their unit, we practice until we get it right, while still maintaining the ambiguity of what is "good" or "not good".
